Health

Petitioner: Alexander Tiffin

Status:
Closed

Date Lodged: 12 February 2020

Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to introduce screening for Cytomegalovirus (CMV) for all pregnant women.

Petition History:

Summary

19 March 2020: The Committee agreed to close the petition under Standing Orders Rule 15.7 on the basis that the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence states that the available evidence does not support routine cytomegalovirus screening in pregnant women and that it should not be offered and that the UK NSC recommended against screening for CMV in 2012 and 2017 and this will be reviewed in 2020/21.
