- Representations have been made by the Board of the Hospice in correspondence with Greater Glasgow Health Board and at meetings with senior representatives of the Health Board
- Representations have been made on an ongoing basis to NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Health Board and to Scottish Ministers via correspondence from Des McNulty MSP and John McFall MP for West Dunbartonshire and at meetings with the Board’s Chief Executive.
- Des McNulty, MSP for Clydebank and Milngavie asked a question about the future of NHS elderly care at the hospice during First Minister’s Questions on 4 October 2007. The issue is also highlighted in parliamentary motion S3M-711 which has achieved cross party support.
- A petition, organised by the McCance family, requesting that the Health Board ensure the retention of St Margaret’s ward at the St Margaret of Scotland Hospice, has so far attracted 40,000 signatures.
- An electronic version of the petition has so far attracted in excess of 1200 signatures
