Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to urge the Scottish Government to take necessary action to bring about a ban on the use of free methanol released by aspartame and to run an awareness campaign amongst health professionals to alert them of free methanol present in our diet.

28 April 2015: The Committee agreed to close the petition, under Rule 15.7, on the basis that the advice from the Food Standards Agency Scotland has not changed in light of the Hull Study and the Scottish Government has stated that it does not support the petition.
