Cycling

The Scottish Parliament is recognised as Cycle Friendly Employer by Cycling Scotland. We strongly recommend cycling to those living within five miles of the Parliament.

Cycling facilities

We have secure cycle parking for all building users. To activate your pass to use the cycle entrance gate, please contact the Security Office on ext 86559.

There are excellent shower and changing rooms which include lockers, drying cupboards, toilets, showers and hairdryers. There are additional lockers available in the MSP block and the basement corridor. Just follow the signage to find them. Contact the FM helpdesk on ext 85100 to be allocated your own cycle locker.

Bike Users Group (BUG)

When you register to use the cycle facilities with Security (ext 86559) you will be asked if you would like to join the Bike Users Group. This is an email distribution list where you will receive email updates about the Parliament cycling activities and news.

Active Travel Champions

There are a group of volunteers who act as Active Travel Champions for the Parliament. They run events, provide information and offer guided cycle commutes where they guide staff on off-road routes to the Parliament from various locations around Edinburgh. The Active Travel Champions are a sub group of the Sustain Network and can be contacted via Sustain.Network@Parliament.Scot.
