The Committee agreed it wished to follow up on its 2013 inquiry into access to new medicines. In particular, the Committee to seek an update on the effectiveness of the changes made to the Scottish Medicines Consortium’s system for approving new medicines.
The Convener of the Health and Sport Committee, Duncan McNeil wrote to the Cabinet Secretary Health, Wellbeing and Sport on 9 March 2016.
The Scottish Parliament’s Health and Sport Committee launched a call for written evidence on 7 December 2015 from all interested parties on the effectiveness of the changes made to the system for approving new medicines.
