Section 23 report - Commissioning social care

Joint Auditor General for Scotland and Accounts Commission report published 1 March 2012.

The Committee took evidence from the AGS, Audit Scotland and the Accounts Commission on the report entitled "Commissioning social care", at its meeting on 14 March 2012.  The Committee took evidence from Coalition of Care Providers in Scotland, Scottish Care, Long Term Conditions Alliance Scotland, North Lanarkshire Council, City of Edinburgh Council, Convention of Scottish Local Authorities and NHS Ayrshire and Arran at its meeting on 25 April 2012.  The Committee took oral evidence from the Scottish Government at its meeting on 9 May 2012 and agreed to provide a response to the Scottish Government's consultation on proposals for the integration of health and social care in Scotland. The Committee agreed to consider its draft response in private at a future meeting.

At its meeting on 20 June 2012 the Committee considered and agreed a draft response to the Scottish Government's consultation on proposals for the "Integration of Adult Health and Social Care in Scotland", subject to changes to be agreed by correspondence, and agreed arrangements for its publication. The Committee's consultation response was published on 4 July 2012.

At its meeting on 27 February 2013, the Committee considered a response from the Scottish Government to the Committee's response to the Scottish Government's consultation on proposals for the "Integration of Adult Health and Social Care in Scotland". The Committee agreed to refer the response to the Health and Sport Committee.
