The Glasgow School of Art



The Committee held evidence sessions regarding the impact of the June 2018 fire upon the iconic Glasgow School of Art Mackintosh building. The Committee’s evidence sessions focussed on the management and custodianship of the Mackintosh building and its collections. The Committee also examined the future of both the building and the collections. The Committee's Report The Glasgow School of Art Mackintosh Building – The Loss of a National Treasure was published on 8 March 2019.

On 17 May 2019, the Committee received a response to the report from Glasgow School of Art, along with accompanying documents.

The Committee received a statement from the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service in response to the Report, dated 20 May 2019.

On 31 May 2019, the Committee issued a statement in response to the Glasgow School of Art.

The Committee received a response to the report from the Scottish Government on 13 June 2019.
