Scottish Trauma Network

On the 11 January the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport wrote to the Convener to confirm the approval of proposals to develop a bespoke Scottish Trauma Network (STN).

Medical Schools Matriculation Policy

On 8 December the Committee wrote to medical schools in Scotland about their matriculation policy. The medical schools issued the following responses.

Review of Maternity and Neonatal Service

On 20 January the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport wrote to the Convener with the report on the review of maternity and neonatal service.

Scottish Government Strategies

On 6 February the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport wrote to the Convener detailing upcoming Health related Scottish Government strategies for 2017.

On 28 June the Minister for Mental Health wrote tot he Convener to advise of the launch of the 2017-2020 Dementia Strategy.

NHS Pay Recommendations

On 23 March the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport wrote to the Convener about recommendations on pay for 2017-18 from the NHS Pay Review Body.

Safe Staffing

On 11 April the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport wrote to the Convener about safe staffing in the NHS.  

Budget Process Review Group

On 10 March the Convener of the Finance and Constitution Committee wrote to the Convener highlighting the Budget Process Review Group's Interim Report and requesting the views of the Committee.

On 18 April the Convener wrote to the Convener of the Finance and Constitution Committee in response to his letter.

Alcohol and Drug Partnerships

On 19 April the Convener wrote to the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport about funding for Alcohol and Drug Partnerships.

On 9 June the Minister for Public Health and Sport responded to the Convener's letter on funding for Alcohol and Drug Partnerships.

NHSScotland Confidential Alert Line (NCAL)

On 27 April the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport wrote to the Convener to advise that an invitation to tender has been issued for a new Whistleblowing Alert and Advice Services for NHSScotland.

Health and Social Care Workforce Plan

On 28 June the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport wrote to the Convener to provide details of the launch of the health and social care workforce plan.

Analysis of Consultation on Increasing Organ and Tissue Donation

On 28 June the Minister for Public Health and Sport wrote to the Convener to advise on the outcome on the consultation on increasing organ and tissue donation.

ScotGEM

On 27 July the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport wrote to the Committee advising of the introduction of Scotland's first graduate entry scheme - ScotGEM.

The Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 (Prescribed Days) Regulations 2017 (SSI 2017/207)

On 6 September the Convener wrote to the Minister for Public Health and Sport regarding the above SSI.

On 19 September the Convener wrote to the Minister for Public Health and Sport following a non-response to the above letter.

On 21 September the Minister for Public Health and Sport responded to the Convener's letters. 

Suicide Prevention Strategy

On 28 September the Convener wrote to the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport seeking an update on a new Suicide Prevention Strategy.

On 5 October the Minister for Mental Health responded to the Convener's letter.

NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde Health Board Annual Review

On 4 October the Convener wrote to John Brown, Chairman of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde regarding D&C delays and neonatal facilities following their Annual Review meeting on 2 October.

On 6 November John Brown, Chairman of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde responded to the Convener. 

Winter resilience across health and social services

On 5 October the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport wrote to the Convener regarding the announcement of additional winter resilience funding.

NHS Ayrshire & Arran (Adverse Events)

On 10 November the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport wrote to the Convener regarding progress following Health Improvement Scotland's report from June 2017.

2018 Scottish General Medical Services Contract Offer

On 13 November the Cabinet Secretary for Health and Sport wrote to the Convener regarding the Scottish Government and Scottish General Practitioners' Committee (SGPC) of the British Medical Association agreement of the terms of the 2018 General Medical Services contract offer.

UK Government Announcement on Sleepovers

On 20 November the Scottish Government wrote to the Convener regarding the new Social Care Compliance Scheme (SCCS) relating to sleep-in shift pay in the social care sector.
