Motions and amendments are normally printed the day after they are lodged. If an amendment is lodged to a motion then the original motion will appear alongside the amendment, along with any support lodged that day, in this section.
Each Monday, this section also contains all motions and amendments lodged the previous week that are still live and any motions and amendments that have been lodged for debate in the coming week. A motion or amendment is live if it has not been debated, withdrawn or otherwise deleted from the list.
Where a motion or amendment has been withdrawn, it is indicated in this section the day after it has been withdrawn. Support for motions and amendments received after they are lodged is shown at the end of this section the day after such support is received.
Motions and amendments can be published with various symbols
- Asterisks before the motion or amendment number indicate a motion or amendment published for the first time
- Asterisks also identify alterations to the text of a motion or amendment made since it was first published
- A hash symbol identifies motions eligible for debate at Members’ Business
- A diamond symbol identifies motions lodged for Members’ Business that have not yet attracted the required cross-party support
- An "R", identifies motions or amendments in which the Member who lodged it has a registrable interest.
The Parliamentary Bureau periodically deletes motions or amendments not scheduled for debate and which are over six weeks old.
Any questions in relation to this section should be directed to the Chamber Desk

*S4M-13097 Gil Paterson: MBE Honour for Sister Rita—That the Parliament recognises what it considers the exemplary work of Sister Rita in her dedicated devotion to looking after people who are near the end of life and in need of first-class palliative care as well as the care of long-term frail older people that St Margaret of Scotland Hospice in Clydebank delivers to all faiths and none, which is the hallmark of Sister Rita’s achievements so readily recognised by the Queen in appointing her an MBE, and joins with many, many others who have first-hand knowledge, having had loved ones cared for at St Margaret’s, to wish Sister Rita continuing success for the future and to congratulate her in receiving the well-deserved MBE.

*S4M-13084 Elaine Smith: NHS Board Service Changes—That the Parliament urges the removal of what it considers a serious flaw in democratic transparency by NHS boards in Scotland when submitting proposals for service change decisions affecting patients, including service closures; understands that, at present, boards’ plans are submitted in private to the Scottish Health Council (SHC) and that the SHC is dependent on information selected by an NHS board for consideration behind closed doors and that outside challenge, comment or corrections to aid the SHC are missing; proposes that this lack of external democratic information must be addressed and that plans should be discussed openly with MSPs, hospitals and patient support groups to increase transparency; recognises that these decisions can have a negative impact on patients, as shown by the plans of NHS Lanarkshire to bar Lanarkshire patients from the NHS Centre for Integrative Care (CIC) in Glasgow and close two CIC outreach clinics at Coatbridge and Carluke; understands that CIC patients include people with multiple sclerosis, arthritis, ME, chronic pain, Parkinson’s, Crohn’s and motor neurone disease; understands that when the SHC decided that this was not a major service change it was dealing with figures from NHS Lanarkshire that did not fully represent the number of return patients that would be affected along with other information; has concerns that MSPs are excluded throughout the process and does not accept claims that the SHC found Lanarkshire’s process “robust” as the SHC, in its letter to NHS Lanarkshire of 5 November 2014, showed numerous concerns, including the view that “the Equality Impact Assessment does not reflect the disproportionate impact on people with long term conditions and disabilities and how this will be mitigated”, and further understands that the board of NHS Lanarkshire also rejected 80.6% of patient and public support for continuation of CIC services (4,800 people) to its public consultation.

*S4M-13083 David Stewart: John Hughes, PFA Manager of the Year—That the Parliament congratulates John Hughes on being named PFA Scotland Manager of the Year; recognises that, with limited resources, he has led Inverness Caledonian Thistle (ICT) to the final of the Scottish Cup; notes that, with four league games to play, he has managed to lead ICT to third in the Scottish Premiership; considers that John Hughes has utilised all the skills that he has learned as a player and a manager to achieve this success in only 18 months with the Highland club, and wishes him and the team all the best for the future.
