This section includes the agendas of the forthcoming committee meetings and outlines proposed future business, which may be subject to change. Committees have the right to take items in private and this will be notified as far in advance as possible.

Health and Sport Committee

The Committee will meet at 10.00 am in the James Clerk Maxwell Room (CR4)

1. Carers (Scotland) Bill: The Committee will take evidence, in round-table format, on the Bill at Stage 1 from—

Proposed future business

At its next meeting, on 12 May, the Committee expects to consider oral evidence on Carers (Scotland) Bill amd its approach to its NHS boards budget scrutiny.

The Committee will meet at 10.00 am in the David Livingstone Room (CR6)

1. Decision on taking business in private: The Committee will decide whether to take item 5 in private.

2. Inquiries into Fatal Accidents and Sudden Deaths etc. (Scotland) Bill: The Committee will take evidence on the Bill at Stage 1 from—

Firefighters’ Compensation Scheme and Pension Scheme (Amendment) (Scotland) Order 2015 (SSI 2015/143);

Firemen’s Pension Scheme (Amendment No. 2) (Scotland) Order 2015 (SSI 2015/173);

Police Pensions (Amendment) (Scotland) Regulations 2015 (SSI 2015/174).

4. Subordinate legislation: The Committee will consider the following instrument which is not subject to any parliamentary procedure—

Act of Adjournal (Criminal Procedure Rules Amendment No. 2) (European Protection Orders) 2015 (SSI 2015/121).

5. Work programme: The Committee will consider its work programme.

Proposed future business

At its next meeting, on 12 May, the Committee expects to continue taking evidence on the Inquiries into Fatal Accidents and Sudden Deaths etc. (Scotland) Bill at Stage 1 and to consider subordinate legislation.

Welfare Reform Committee

The Committee will meet at 10.00 am in the Sir Alexander Fleming Room (CR3)

1. ‘Your Say’ evidence session on Personal Independence Payments: The Committee will take evidence from—

Mairi MacGregor;

Moira Sinclair;

Lindsay Souter;

and then from—

Katie Ross, Income Maximisation Adviser, Orkney Citizens Advice Bureau.

2. Women and welfare debate: The Committee will consider whether it wishes to submit a request for a Chamber debate on women and welfare at a future meeting of the Parliament.

3. Annual report: The Committee will consider a draft annual report for the parliamentary year from 11 May 2014 to 10 May 2015.

Proposed future business

At its next meeting, on 19 May, the Committee expects to take oral evidence on its Women and Welfare inquiry. It also expects to take further evidence on the mitigation of the so called ‘bedroom tax’.

4. Education (Scotland) Bill: The Committee will consider its approach to the delegated powers provisions in this Bill at Stage 1.
