Members of the Education and Culture Committee visited the National Library of Scotland today as part of their scrutiny of the National Library of Scotland Bill.

The National Library of Scotland Bill was introduced to the Scottish Parliament on 26 October 2011 and the Education and Culture Committee was designated as lead committee.

The Committee intends to take oral evidence on the Bill in February 2012 and publish its report to the Parliament on the Bill’s general principles in early March.

Committee members were given a tour of the library by Martyn Wade, National Librarian and Chief Executive.
