    • Accident Prevention And Safety Awareness

      Purpose:

      To promote all aspects of safety through safety awareness and accident prevention

    • Adult Learning

      Purpose:

      • To create a much-needed space for MSPs to debate and discuss with adult learners, directly, on how best to protect and promote adult learning provision in the future and to provide an opportunity where the hopes and expectations of learners can be a driver in influencing adult learning policy.
      • To showcase how lives are being transformed through adult learning and celebrate innovation within the sector, from around Scotland and internationally.

    • Adult Survivors Of Childhood Sexual Abuse

      Purpose:

      The purpose of this Cross-Party Group is to establish a forum for debate, with an agreed specific programme of targets and action, on the issue of childhood sexual abuse, its long term effects and links with mental health problems, alcohol and drug abuse, physical abuse, domestic violence and homelessness. The group will ascertain the level of current service provision nationally, identify gaps in services and address funding issues. The group will consider the requirement for care pathways for survivors, as well as the need for joined up policies. The legal considerations surrounding childhood sexual abuse and those agencies over which the Executive have authority will be examined. We will monitor the work being carried out by the National Strategy for survivors of childhood sexual abuse, and seek to create greater public awareness and understanding of the issue, and combat the many myths that surround childhood sexual abuse, and its impact on society as a whole.

    • Animal Welfare

      Purpose:

      To provide a forum for opinion and information-sharing about animal welfare; to raise awareness of the importance of animal welfare; where consensus is reached. to make proposals to introduce or amend legislation concerning animal welfare.

    • Architecture And The Built Environment

      Purpose:

      To maintain a forum of MSPs and others to promote and further the economic, social, environmental and cultural contributions that architecture and the planned environment make to the quality of life of Scotland's citizens. Also, while acknowledging the responsibilities devolved to the Scottish Parliament, to sustain a dialogue on Scottish architecture, planning and built environment in the European and World contexts.

    • Armed Forces Veterans

      Purpose:

      • To help the Scottish Parliament to address the challenges facing Veterans.
      • To provide MSPs with a source of information and expertise on issues relating to Scottish Veterans.
      • To bring together those with an interest in the well-being of Veterans.
      • To encourage co-operation in promoting the interests of Veterans and their involvement with the Scottish Parliament.
      • To assist the Scottish Parliament in meeting Veterans needs as well as benefiting from their experience.

    • Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Conditions

      Purpose:

      1. Seek to raise the awareness of ongoing issues affecting patients with Arthritis or Musculoskeletal Conditions, and those that arise in the course of treatment provided by health care practitioners. Ongoing issues are likely to include access to services, conditions affecting children, pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions, and relevant guidelines and surrounding issues such as non-compliance or an identified lack of guideline.

      2. It will aim to identify barriers to change and the measures required to overcome those.

      3. Liaise with appropriate agencies, academics and parliamentarians to consider and agree appropriate measures with a view to improvement of provision of health care.

      4. Influence policy decisions of the Scottish Government, local authorities and other appropriate agencies to ensure that adequate levels of resources are deployed to address chief issues.

      5. Liaise with representatives from NHS Health Boards and other organisations as appropriate such as Arthritis Musculoskeletal Alliance, Scottish Network for Arthritis in Children, amongst others, with regards to current relevant research.

      6. Develop links with appropriate officials within UK Government on an as and when required basis.

    • Asthma

      Purpose:

      To provide a platform for parliamentarians to discuss all issues relating to asthma; to liaise with those affected by the condition, organisations representing their interests, and health workers dealing with asthma; and to promote good practice and raise specific issues of concern.

    • Aviation

      Purpose:

      To provide a forum for discussion for Scotland’s expanding and evolving aviation industry and all associated sectors with a view to encourage new domestic and international routes from Scotland’s airports.

    • Cancer

      Purpose:

      • To act as a channel of communications between the Scottish Parliament and people and organisations working in cancer research, treatment, care and prevention.
      • To identify areas where inequalities exist in the provision of cancer care and campaign for their improvement.
      • To provide opportunities for MSPs to learn about the latest Scottish and international cancer research and to learn about cancer care needs and services, including the views of both parents and carers.
      • To examine areas of policy or service provision, including both the allocation and the effective use of resources, where there may be inequalities of practice or standards of care and to make representations for effective and timely actions.

    • Carers

      Purpose:

      To ensure equality of opportunity for carers in Scotland by liaising with carers' organisations, lobbying the Executive and promoting legislation on carers' behalf; to promote awareness amongst Members of the Scottish Parliament of the needs of carers and former carers; to liaise with Members of both Houses at Westminster and the Welsh Assembly in order to share best practice; and to link with appropriate bodies, including carers organisations, on an international basis.

    • Caribbean

      Purpose:

      To advance the mutual interests of Scotland and the Caribbean in areas such as trade, investment, tourism and in representing the interests of people with a Caribbean background living and working in Scotland.

    • Children And Young People

      Purpose:

      To ensure issues affecting children and young people are recognised and discussed throughout the working of the Scottish Parliament, in order to ensure that the needs and rights of children and young people are met throughout Scotland.

    • China

      Purpose:

      The Cross-Party Group on China seeks to promote relations between Scotland and China, not only in recognition of the crucial importance of China as an economic power; but also of the role of China as a cultural force. The CPG seeks to work with organisations and authorities to increase cultural, educational and economic exchange between the two countries. And to develop a dialogue with the Chinese Consulate in Edinburgh, and to engage with the Chinese community in Scotland.

    • Chronic Pain

      Purpose:

      The aim of the Group is to raise awareness of how those with chronic pain are treated and to work for earlier and better care.

      The Group aims to raise awareness of the condition amongst parliamentarians, to influence legislation and policy makers in order to improve the lives of people affected.

    • Colleges And Universities

      Purpose:

      To consider and discuss the future of further and higher education in Scotland.

    • Construction

      Purpose:

      The aim of the Group is to ensure that Scotland has a world-class construction industry delivering best value for its clients, a safe environment on its sites and a proper career path and employment prospects for its people.

      The Cross-Party Group will be the forum for Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs), stakeholders and interested parties to engage directly with each other in order to raise awareness of the opportunities and challenges facing the sector and to better inform the development of policy in this important area.

    • Consumer Affairs

      Purpose:

      To raise awareness of consumer affairs in the Scottish Parliament by engaging with MSPs and external stakeholders. 

    • Co-Operatives

      Purpose:

      To provide a platform for MSPs and others with an interest in co-operation and mutuality to increase awareness of the co-operative model and its contribution to Scotland's social and economic development, promote co-operation as a vital component of Scotland's future, and to work with the Scottish Government, Co-Operative Development Scotland and the sector to identify how best to sustain existing co-operative and mutual groups and to encourage an increase in co-operative working in Scotland.

    • Credit Unions

      Purpose:

      To provide a forum to discuss issues which involve credit unions in Scotland. The CPG will also create a foundation for policy development relating to credit unions and help to form a network of good practice between credit unions and parliamentarians. The CPG may also promote the positive role of credit unions as social enterprises in Scotland.

    • Crofting

      Purpose:

      To discuss issues pertinent to crofting in order to raise awareness with those with an interest in crofting.

    • Cuba

      Purpose:

      The purpose of the Group is to promote links between Scotland and Cuba and to examine areas of common interest between Scottish and Cuban parliamentarians.

    • Culture

      Purpose:

      • another forum to discuss cultural matters and ideas (meeting quarterly)
      • something different from other CPGs, by making use of the talent in the sector to put on engaging performances and guest speakers
      • an opportunity for stimulating discussion about ideas as well as processes/artforms
      • a platform for further and wider learning (making use of social media and podcasting)
      • a showcase for the arts in Parliament

    • Cycling

      Purpose:

      To raise the profile of cycling within the Scottish Parliament and to promote cycle-friendly policies and priorities.

    • Deafness

      Purpose:

      To raise awareness amongst Members of issues affecting the Deaf and hard of hearing community in Scotland.

    • Dementia

      Purpose:

      1. The group will provide a forum for MSPs and stakeholders as well as other interested parties to engage directly in dialogue to inform policy developments which impact on the health and well-being of people with dementia and their carers.
      2. The group will draw on the expertise and experience of its members by sharing evidence from a range of perspectives as well as from the latest research, for example: in relation to priorities within the Scottish Government’s National Dementia Strategy. It will produce briefings to enable MSPs to highlight new and emerging issues as appropriate.

    • Diabetes

      Purpose:

      To provide a platform for parliamentarians to discuss all issues relating to diabetes; to liaise with those affected by the condition, organisations representing their interests and health workers dealing with diabetes; and to promote good practice and raise specific issues of concern.

    • Digital Participation

      Purpose:

      To provide a platform for MSPs to engage with a range of organisations on issues relating to digital participation.  The group will provide an opportunity to consider how best Scotland can maximise the social and economic benefits derived from the development of digital technologies.

    • Disability

      Purpose:

      1. To act as a channel of communication between the Scottish Parliament, disabled people and organisations working or supporting disabled people.

      2. To provide opportunities for Members of the Scottish Parliament to learn about needs of disabled people and the barriers individuals face excluding them from performing an active role within society.

      3. To increase awareness and raise the profile of rights for disabled people.

      4. To put disability on the agenda of the Scottish Parliament.

    • Drug And Alcohol Misuse

      Purpose:

      Aims to examine the current policy and practice in responding to drug and alcohol misuse in Scotland and to advise on and promote the development of realistic, evidence-based responses, which could assist in the reduction of the damaging consequences of drug and alcohol misuse in Scotland.

    • Dyslexia

      Purpose:

      The Cross-Party Group on Dyslexia aims to establish a forum whereby those affected by dyslexia and the organisations which represent their interests can share their experience and expertise and further aims to find a platform for discussion with MSPs and to keep them informed of the issues raised. The group will work towards a specific work programme to target particular issues surrounding dyslexia such as its impact on education, employment, health and offending. The group will seek to raise greater public awareness and understanding of dyslexia and promote good practice in terms of supporting those with dyslexia and giving the necessary support to individuals , families and communities affected by dyslexia.

    • Epilepsy

      Purpose:

      The main purpose of the group is to address the needs of people with epilepsy in Scotland by bringing together those with an interest in the health and wellbeing of persons living with this condition. 

      The group will promote discussion of epilepsy issues, raise awareness and increase understanding of epilepsy across a range of services and within the Parliament.

    • Fair Trade

      Purpose:

      To promote the benefits of Fair Trade in Scotland and support the campaign to make Scotland a fair trade nation.

    • Families Affected By Imprisonment

      Purpose:

      To bring focus to the needs of families affected by a relative’s imprisonment and to help the understanding that these families are innocent.

    • Food

      Purpose:

      The purpose of the Cross-Party Group on Food is as follows:

      • To raise awareness of food issues from production through to consumption in Scotland and their importance to the consumer, the economy, the environment and to the health of the Scottish Population
      • To act as a policy forum for discussion and updating on food issues in Scotland
      • To contribute to policy development on a range of food issues in Scotland

    • France

      Purpose:

      To promote an understanding of the existing links and friendship between Scotland and France and to facilitate discussion on equal terms between these nations.

    • Funerals And Bereavement

      Purpose:

      To provide a forum for the discussion of funeral and bereavement issues

    • Gàidhlig

      Purpose:

      To provide MSPs with a mechanism for obtaining information, support, advice and views on issues relating to the Gaelic language and culture within a broad forum which represents Gaelic interests in Scotland.

    • Germany

      Purpose:

      To promote political, cultural, educational and economic links between Scotland and Germany and to facilitate meetings and contacts between parliamentarians of both countries.

    • Golf

      Purpose:

      The Cross-Party Group on golf seeks to promote the development of the game of golf and its associated activities and industries in Scotland and to work with public bodies, organisations and businesses to that end.

    • Health Inequalities

      Purpose:

      The group aims to raise awareness of the causes of health inequalities amongst parliamentarians to influence legislation and amongst policy makers to promote evidence based actions which reduce health inequalities and to avoid legislation and policies which will make health inequalities in Scotland worse.

    • Heart Disease And Stroke

      Purpose:

      To provide a forum for discussion on prevention, care and treatment of heart disease and stroke, between Members of the Scottish Parliament, people living with these conditions, the charities working in the field, and the health professionals involved.

    • Housing

      Purpose:

      To allow housing organisations and MSPs to share information and gather knowledge on all matters relating to housing.

    • Human Rights

      Purpose:

      To facilitate consideration and understanding on human rights issues amongst MSPs and to encourage dialogue on such issues between MSPs and wider Scottish society.

    • Human Trafficking

      Purpose:

      To take forward the human trafficking agenda in Scotland

    • Industrial Communities

      Purpose:

      1. Seek to understand and highlight the range of ongoing issues affecting Scotland’s former traditional industrial communities who have experienced industrial decline over the last few decades.  Ongoing issues are likely to include youth unemployment, town centre regeneration, health inequalities, low educational attainment, regenration funding and poor environmental conditions.  The term ‘former industrial communities’ covers a range of traditional industries including coal, steel, textiles and shipbuilding. 
      2. Liaise with appropriate agencies to consider and agree appropriate ongoing interventions for these communities.
      3. Influence policy decisions of Scottish Government, local authorities and other appropriate agencies to ensure that appropriate levels of resources are deployed to former industrial communities in Scotland. 
      4. Liaise with Alliance Scotland and Alliance UK* representatives with regard to current relevant research and policy debates affecting industrial communities.
      5. Develop links with appropriate officials within UK Government as appropriate.

      *The Alliance is a UK wide, all party, lobbying organization that was established in 2007 to support the regeneration of former traditional industrial areas.  Membership was formed from members of the former Coalfield Communities Campaign, Steel Action and Leading Action for Textiles, Clothing and Footwear.

      NB. Alliance Scotland representatives would perform the role of Secretariat to the Cross Party Group

    • International Development

      Purpose:

      Aims:

      • to ensure liaison between MSPs and organisations working in Scotland on international aid and development issues.
      • to raise awareness in Scotland of these issues and to provide a Scottish forum for discussion.
      • to promote stronger links between Scotland and international aid and development agencies.

      Objectives

      • to promote development education in Scotland.
      • to provide a forum for engagement with southern countries and those in economic transition on debt relief and the causes and consequences of poverty
      • to support Scottish organisations working in international aid and development programmes
      • to facilitate regular visits to Scotland by representatives of the international humanitarian agencies
      • to engage with minority residents in Scotland and to encourage their involvement in the work of the group.

    • Learning Disability

      Purpose:

      The group aims to ensure that the needs and aspirations of people with learning disabilities are considered by the Scottish Parliament and by public policy makers.

    • Malawi

      Purpose:

      To develop and enhance links between Scotland and Malawi and to provide a forum for discussion on these matters. In particular, the group will focus on links between the two parliaments and between civil society in each country.  In order to achieve this, the group will work with parliamentarians from each legislature, with Malawians living in Scotland and with other organisations working in Malawi.

    • Men's Violence Against Women And Children

      Purpose:

      To establish a forum for debate on the issue of men's violence against women and children. It is intended that the remit be broad enough to include the issues of rape, domestic violence, physical and emotional and sexual abuse.

    • Mental Health

      Purpose:

      • To act as a forum for assessing the implications for people with mental health problems and their carers of any relevant proposed legislation which may impact upon them.
      • To raise awareness and understanding of mental illness and mental health and wellbeing.
      • To promote the rights of people with mental health problems and their carers, and help to ensure that the experience and views of these groups inform the political process.
      • To campaign to reduce the stigma and discrimination experienced by people with mental health problems and work to improve public understanding of mental health issues.

    • Middle East And South Asia

      Purpose:

      The purpose of the group is to support social, economic and cultural links between the Middle East (including North Africa), South Asia (including Central Asia), and Scotland. The group also wishes to engage with and support diaspora communities from this region living in Scotland.

    • MS

      Purpose:

      • To address the needs of people with MS in Scotland by bringing together those with an interest in the health and wellbeing of persons living with this condition; and

      • To promote discussion of MS issues, raise awareness, share good practice locally and nationally, and increase understanding of MS across a range of services and within the Parliament.

    • Muscular Dystrophy

      Purpose:

      To ensure that the needs of people living with muscular dystrophy are highlighted in the Scottish Parliament and to press for improvements to essential services for families across Scotland.

    • Nuclear Disarmament

      Purpose:

      • To act as a policy forum for discussion and updating on how policy impacts on Scottish nuclear issues.
      • To share information and expertise on Scottish nuclear issues between MSPs.
      • To maximise information and expertise from external sources, including Scottish CND and other statutory, public and voluntary organisations which support the aims of this group.
      • To act as a forum for networking and support led by MSPs sympathetic to the aims of this group.

    • Oil And Gas

      Purpose:

      To provide a platform for parliamentarians to discuss all issues relating to the whole structure of the oil and gas industry; to raise specific issues of concern with the Scottish Government and the industry itself; to promote innovation in offshore engineering; to encourage greater recognition of the importance of the oil and gas industry to the UK and to support the use of offshore technology and skills in the development and production of renewable energy.

    • Older People, Age And Ageing

      Purpose:

      To help the Scottish Parliament to address the challenges of an ageing population.

      To provide MSPs with a source of information and expertise on issues of age.

      To bring together those with an interest in the well-being of older people.

      To encourage co-operation in promoting the interests of older people and their involvement with the Scottish Parliament.

      To assist the Scottish Parliament in meeting older people’s needs as well as benefiting from their experience.

    • Pakistan

      Purpose:

      To promote and enhance understanding between Scotland and Pakistan at cultural, social, academic, political and economic levels. Develop contact with the Pakistan Parliament and other institutions for advancing mutual interests of Scotland and Pakistan. Also the Cross Party would represent the interest of people/organisations with Pakistani background living and working in Scotland and act as a forum for the Community living in Scotland. Already a sister organisation in Pakistan has been established called “Friends of Scotland” in the Pakistani Parliament, and Lahore Chamber of Commerce have established a committee on Scotland to work with the CPG.

    • Palestine

      Purpose:

      To establish a forum for Palestinians living in Scotland and to promote a solution for the Palestinian people recognising the justice of their cause and the need for the Israeli and Palestinian leadership to adhere to UN resolutions and International Law .

    • Palliative Care

      Purpose:

      • To act as a channel of communication between the Scottish Parliament and people and organisations working in palliative care
      • To provide opportunities for Members of the Scottish Parliament to learn about palliative care needs and service, and the issues involved in palliative care provision
      • To increase awareness and raise the profile of palliative care
      • To put palliative care on to the agenda of the Health and Sport Committee.

    • Poland

      Purpose:

      To facilitate political, cultural and economic links between Scotland and Poland and between the Polish community in Scotland and the indigenous Scottish Community.

    • Postal Issues

      Purpose:

      • Discuss forthcoming changes to the postal service and post offices.
      • Discuss the potential impact of changes and the distinct needs of people in Scotland.
      • Seek to influence policy development on three key postal issues to improve outcomes for postal users in Scotland –protecting the universal service obligation, protecting vulnerable and disadvantaged users in Scotland and retaining a viable public post office network.

    • Racial Equality In Scotland

      Purpose:

      To provide a forum for issues relating to race and anti racism and to seek solutions to the discrimination faced by Scotland's black / minority ethnic communities. To work through cross-party dialogue in promoting the role played by Scotland's civic society, Parliament and Government in actively building a Scotland free from racism.

      The Group will seek to identify and address racism across society, including through learning from the experiences of BME groups

    • Rail

      Purpose:

      • To encourage the development and extension of quality rail services for the people and economy of Scotland.
      • To ensure that rail has a high profile in the Scottish Parliament.
      • To influence Scottish Government policy on rail, including on connectivity.
      • To liaise with Transport Scotland, Network Rail, franchise holders, trades unions, rail interest groups and other such organisations to ensure that MSPs are kept up to date on matters pertaining to rail in Scotland.

    • Rare Diseases

      Purpose:

      • To act as a channel of communications between the Scottish Parliament and families affected by rare diseases in Scotland.
      • To act as a channel of communications between the Scottish Parliament and people and organisations working in rare disease research, treatment, care and prevention.
      • To monitor the development and implementation of a Strategy for Rare Diseases in Scotland.
      • To identify areas where inequalities exist in the provision of care and campaign for their improvement.
      • To examine areas of policy or service provision relating to rare diseases in Scotland.

    • Recreational Boating and Marine Tourism

      Purpose:

      The Cross-Party Group meets to further the promotion of recreational boating and marine tourism and the wider benefits thereof.

      The CPG provides a Parliamentary focus for wider recreational marine issues by discussing issues pertinent to the leisure marine industry as a whole.

      The CPG seeks to raise the profile of recreational boating in Scotland through the means available to a Parliamentary Cross Party Group.

    • Religious Freedom

      Purpose:

      The group will provide a forum for MSPs, enabling discussion and the widest possible engagement with the multi-faith community, locally, nationally, and internationally.

    • Renewable Energy And Energy Efficiency

      Purpose:

      The purpose of the Group is to bring together Members of the Scottish Parliament and others with an interest in renewable energy and energy efficiency in Scotland. It aims to raise awareness of relevant issues amongst MSPs through presentation, debates, newsletters and production of reports. The Group meets to ensure the exchange of information and the promotion of debate between Members of the Scottish Parliament, industry, NGOs and other interested parties. This may take place through presentations, debates, newsletters and production of reports.

    • Rural Policy

      Purpose:

      The purpose of the Group is to inform MSPs and the wider Scottish Parliament about issues relating to rural policies and policy-making in Scotland.

    • Science And Technology

      Purpose:

      The purpose of the group is to bring together MSPs and others with an interest in science and technology in Scotland. It aims to raise awareness amongst MSPs of important developments in science and technology.

    • Scotch Whisky

      Purpose:

      The main purpose of the Cross-Party Group on Scotch Whisky is to promote a better understanding of the Scotch Whisky industry to members of the Scottish Parliament. The industry plays a key role in Scotland with regards to the economy, exports, jobs, tourism, the environment and tackling alcohol misuse. This group will provide the forum to discuss these important issues with MSPs from all parties alongside key people from within the Scotch Whisky industry.

    • Scottish Economy

      Purpose:

      To focus on the economy as a whole and to examine cross-sectoral issues and macro-economic matters

    • Scottish Showmen's Guild

      Purpose:

      To provide a forum for opinion and information sharing about the Scottish Showmen’s Guild. To raise awareness of the importance of the Scottish Showmen’s Guild where consensus is reached.

    • Skills

      Purpose:

      The Group's main aim is to bring together a wide range of organisations and individuals involved in skills development in Scotland to discuss and share ways in which skills development can be enhanced to bring sustainable economic benefits.

    • Skin And Associated Rheumatic Conditions

      Purpose:

      At its meeting on 24 September 2014 the CPG on Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis agreed to a proposed change of the name and purpose of the Group.

      The Standards, Procedures and Public Appointments committee approved this change at its meeting on 6 Novemebr 2014.

      All information pertaining to the previous CPG on Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis is included in the webpage for the CPG on Skin and Associated Rheumatic Conditions.

      The purpose of the CPG on Skin and Associated Rheumatic Conditions is-

      To provide a forum to raise awareness of skin and associated rheumatic conditions in the Parliament; including general policy, early diagnosis and treatment, self-management, medical training, options for care, comorbidities and quality of life, and to liaise with health boards and clinicians in the improvement of patient care and empowerment.

    • Social Enterprise

      Purpose:

      • To promote the growth and success of social enterprises across Scotland
      • To help awareness and understanding among MSPs, public and media
      • To promote the role of social enterprises in designing and delivering public services
      • To help open private sector business opportunities to social enterprises
      • To demonstrate the wide-ranging social impacts of social enterprise in Scotland

    • Sport

      Purpose:

      1. To ensure the development of sport and sporting opportunities for the people of Scotland
      2. To ensure that sport has a high profile in the Scottish Parliament
      3. To influence Scottish Government policy
      4. To liaise with Sportscotland, the governing bodies and other sports organisations in Scotland so that such organisation will be able to keep MSPs informed on matter affecting Scottish Sport

      Purpose:

      To facilitate the political, cultural, educational and economic links between Taiwan and Scotland.

    • Tibet

      Purpose:

      The aim of the Group is to facilitate the building of relations between Scottish Parliament, Tibet and its people and those interested in Tibet.

    • Tobacco And Health

      Purpose:

    • Tourism

      Purpose:

      To highlight and promote the Scottish tourism industry

    • Towns And Town Centres

      Purpose:

      To analyse policy prescriptions and develop ideas and innovations. This will help Scotland’s towns and town centres through the current economic climate to emerge stronger, smarter, cleaner, healthier and greener.

      The group will discuss ways in which Scotland’s towns can work towards sustainable economic growth through greater vibrancy and vitality.

    • Turkey

      Purpose:

      • To provide a forum for promoting discussions on commerce and industry between Scotland and Turkey.
      • To facilitate meetings and contacts between parliamentarians of both countries to increase economic, political, cultural and educational exchanges between Turkey and Scotland.
      • To develop and promote contact with Scottish and Turkish voluntary and statutory organisations and institutions for advancing mutual interests of Scotland and Turkey.

    • Visual Impairment

      Purpose:

      The Cross-Party Group on Visual Impairment draws together the blind and partially sighted sector in Scotland to identify issues competent to the Scottish Parliament and seeks, in a reasonable fashion, to influence policy, legislation and decision makers to better reflect the needs of blind and partially sighted people.

    • Volunteering And The Voluntary Sector

      Purpose:

      To provide a Parliamentary forum bringing together voluntary sector groups and organisations encouraging volunteering with MSPs to developing an understanding of the social and economic role of the sector; to engage with the Scottish Government and local government on issues of importance to the sector, including the role of the national and local compacts and a volunteering strategy; and to provide understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing the sector and to inform policy on how best the potential of the sector can be fully realised in the interests of local communities.
