    The Consul General of Japan in Edinburgh, Mr Nozomu Takaoka, visited the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday 11 December 2019. The Consul General met the Presiding Officer and discussed the close relations between Scotland and Japan.

  • Shenzhen Municipality Human Resources and Social Security Bureau
    Members of the Shenzhen Municipality HR and Social Security Bureau visited the Scottish Parliament on Monday 25 November 2019. The delegation met with Scottish Parliament officials from the Scottish Parliament Information Centre to learn about their work and to discuss devolved social security powers.

    The newly appointed Consul General of India in Edinburgh, Hitesh Rajpal visited the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday 20 November 2019. The Consul General signed the visitor's guestbook during their meeting.

  • John Smith Trust Fellowship
    Fellows from the John Smith Trust visited the Scottish Parliament on Tuesday 5 November 2019. Representing Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, the 25 Fellows met with the Deputy Presiding Officer, Linda Fabiani MSP, Scottish Parliament officials and cross party MSPs to discuss a broad range of topics that included justice, sustainable economic development and employment opportunities for marginalised groups.
  • Chinese Consul General in Edinburgh, Ma Qiang
    The Chinese Consul General in Edinburgh, Ma Qiang, made his first official visit to the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday 30 October 2019. The Consul General met the Presiding Officer and signed the visitor's guestbook during his visit.
  • Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the UK, His Excellency Masud Khalifazoda
    On Tuesday 29 October 2019, the Ambassador of the Republic of Tajikistan to the United Kingdom, HE Mr Masud Khalifazoda made his first official visit to the Scottish Parliament. The Ambassador met the Deputy Presiding Officer, Christine Grahame MSP and signed the visitor's guestbook during his visit.
  • National Assembly Public Information Centre of the Republic of Korea
    On Thursday 24 October 2019, members of the National Assembly Public Information Centre of the Republic of Korea visited the Scottish Parliament. They met with Scottish Parliament officials from the Scottish Parliament Information Centre and Public Petitions Committee to discuss our online public petitions system.
  • Lebanon's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Mr Gerban Bassil

    Lebanon’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants, Mr Gerban Bassil, and the Ambassador of Lebanon to the UK, His Excellency Rami Mortada, visited the Scottish Parliament on Wednesday 2 October 2019. The Minister and Ambassador met with the Deputy Presiding Officer, Linda Fabiani MSP, and signed the visitor's guestbook during their meeting.

  • Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UK and Northern Ireland, Mr Edil Baisalov

    On Thursday 19 September, the Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UK and Northern Ireland, Mr Edil Baisalov, visited the Scottish Parliament. The Ambassador met with the Deputy Presiding Officer, signed the visitor's book and was given an official welcome to the Presiding Officer’s gallery at FMQs.

  • WFD programme in Uzbekistan

    Alison O’Connor, a Senior Analyst in the Scottish Parliament Information Centre’s Financial Scrutiny Unit facilitated a Westminster Foundation for Democracy programme in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on 27 August 2019. The programme was centred around the role of a parliamentary budget office. 

  • Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey, His Excellency Mr Ümit Yalçın

    On Thursday 27 June 2019, His Excellency Mr Ümit Yalçın, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey made his first official visit to the Scottish Parliament. The Ambassador met the Presiding Officer and signed the visitor's guestbook during his visit. 

  • Consul General of Turkey, Mr Nafi Cemal Tosyalı

    On Thursday 23rd May 2019, the Consul General of Turkey Mr Nafi Cemal Tosyalı made his first official visit to the Scottish Parliament. The Consul General met the Presiding Officer and signed the visitor's guestbook during his visit.

  • Provincial Assemblies of Sindh & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

    Members from the Provincial Assemblies of Sindh & Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Pakistan visited the Scottish Parliament on 21-22 May. The delegation met with representatives from Scottish Women's Aid and Glasgow & Clyde Rape Crisis as well as attending the Cross Party Group on Women in Enterprise and the Education and Skills Committee. The delegation also met with John Finnie MSP, Rona Mackay MSP, Claudia Beamish MSP, Johann Lamont MSP & Rhoda Grant MSP

  • Jordanian House of Representatives

    Human Resources officials from the Jordanian House of Representatives visited the Scottish Parliament on Monday 1st and Tuesday 2nd of April 2019. The delegation met with HR officials from the Scottish Parliament to discuss staff training & development, recruitment & job design and human resources policies in the Scottish Parliament.

  • Head of the Palestinian Mission in the UK

    The Head of the Palestinian Mission in the UK, His Excellency Dr Husam Zomlot, visited the Scottish Parliament on Thursday 7th March 2019. Dr Zomlot was given an official welcome to the Presiding Officer's gallery at FMQs before having a courtesy call with the Presiding Officer, where he signed the visitor's guest book.

  • Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan

    A delegation of MPs and officials from the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan visited the Scottish Parliament on Tuesday 26th February 2019. The delegation held discussions with Parliament officials on Scotland's energy sector & economy, before observing the Economy, Energy & Fair Work Committee. Other speakers included Scottish Enterprise, Scottish Renewables, Highlands & Islands Enterprise and Scottish Council for Development & industry

  • Consul General of China, Pan Xinchun

    The Consul General of China, Pan Xinchun, visited the Scottish Parliament on Thursday 7th February 2019. The Consul General met with the Presiding Officer for a courtesy call, as well as meeting with Dean Lockhart MSP & Mary Fee MSP, who are co-conveners of the Cross Party Group on China.

  • Lebanon Women Political Leaders project

    A delegation from the Lebanon Women Political Leaders project visited the Parliament on 4th & 5th of February 2019. The group heard from Parliament officials and representatives from Women 50:50 and Engender Scotland about Women in politics, representation and diversity. The visit took place as part of a programme between the National Commission for Lebanese Women & the British Council and was arranged through the Westminster Foundation for Democracy.

  • Consul General of India, Anju Ranjan

    The Consul General of India in Edinburgh, Anju Ranjan, visited the Scottish Parliament on Thursday 31 January 2019. The Consul General attended First Minister's Question Time and following this met with the Presiding Officer for a courtesy call.

  • MPs from the Parliament of Lebanon

    A delegation of MPs from the Parliament of Lebanon visited the Scottish Parliament on 28th & 29th January. The MPs met with Ruth Maguire MSP and Gail Ross MSP on behalf of the Equalities & Human Rights Committee, Kezia Dugdale MSP, Alison Johnstone MSP, Margaret Mitchell MSP, Angela Constance MSP, Rona Mackay MSP and Deputy Presiding Officer Linda Fabiani MSP to discuss topics such as gender representation, women in Parliament and legislative process
