Slovenian Ambassador to set out EU Presidency priorities

08.02.2008

Members of the public will have the opportunity to pose questions to the Slovenian Ambassador to the UK, His Excellency Iztok Mirošič, during an event hosted by the European and External Relations Committee at the Scottish Parliament on Thursday 21 February.

The Ambassador will set out the priorities of the current Slovenian Presidency of the European Union.

The Ambassador will also meet with the First Minister, as well as representatives of the other political parties.

The Committee Convener, Malcolm Chisholm MSP, said:

"We welcome this opportunity to meet with Mr Mirošič, the Slovenian Ambassador to the UK, and to learn more about the priorities of the Slovenian EU Presidency particularly given that a number of the issues identified, such as the Lisbon Treaty and the Better Regulation Agenda, are areas on which the Committee is focussing."

The public address and question and answer session will take place between 12.30 to 13.30 pm in Committee Room 5 of the Parliament.

Tickets are available to members of the public and can be obtained by emailing europe@scottish.parliament.uk.
