Status:
Closed

Date Lodged: 29 August 2012

Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to refuse the planning application for the proposed Nathro Hill Wind Farm by Eurowind to build seventeen 135 metre high turbines in the Angus Glens to ensure that this beautiful and iconic part of Scotland remains unspoiled.

Petition History:

Summary:

2 October 2012: The Committee agreed that the petition was inadmissible. Link to Official Report 2 October 2012 (436KB pdf)

The following two statements are part of existing Scottish Government Planning Policy and should be considered in the context of this planning application:

1. Scotland's landscape and natural heritage are internationally renowned and important, underpinning significant industries such as the food, drink and tourism industries, and are a key component of the high environmental quality which makes Scotland an attractive place in which to live, do business and invest.

2. The design and location of any wind farm development should reflect the scale and character of the landscape. The location of turbines should be considered carefully to ensure that the landscape and visual impact is minimised.

Tried numerous times but couldn't get any of the reCaptcha text correct.

I cannot sign due to problems with reCaptcha text. I trust this is not a widespread occurrence, since it would surely undermine the whole point of this protest exercise.

Tried reCaptcha several times, but failed. Don't let this mess the statistics!

Natural countryside at the foothills of the Angus Glens will be ruined forever.

Like others I'm unable to object as the reCapture isn't accepting any of the text although correct. I enter. I totally object to the building of these turbines in this unique spot. I sincerely hope it doesn't go ahead. It would be such a mistake.
