Do you think the wording in the Rent (Scotland) Act 1984 is sufficient to ensure that determination of rent is fair for Scottish Secure Tenants?

Do you agree that pre-1989 housing association tenants whose rent was determined prior to the 2017 Court of Session judgement should have a right to a review of their decision?

Are you aware of housing association tenants who have been affected by the issues raised in this petition?

I think that the wording of the rent act is not sufficient and does not realistically ensure determination of a fair rent . Tennents should have the right to review decisions heard by persons who have a local knowledge of local properties. I am well aware of local residents who struggle to pay monthly rents .who's accommodation is under threat due to lack of finances .

This should be reviewed no questions asked. Some of these individuals have seen their rent rise by 90 percent in some cases which is abysmal and way above the line of wage or benefit increases. The Scottish parliament must do more or lose votes!
