Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to instruct the Scottish Funding Council to provide targeted funding for lesser taught languages and cultures at Scottish universities.

4 June 2013: The Education and Culture Committee considered Petition 1395 by Jan Culik on the provision of targeted funding for lesser taught languages and cultures at Scottish universities. The Committee agreed to keep Petition 1395 open, and to write to the Scottish Government and the Scottish Funding Council on issues raised by the petition. 17 September 2013: The Education and Culture Committee considered petition PE1395, by Jan Culik, on targeted funding for lesser taught languages and cultures at universities, and agreed to close the petition. The Committee also agreed to write to the Scottish Government about the wider issue of the teaching of foreign languages and to include this issue in its work programme.
