Calling on the Scottish Parliament to urge the Scottish Government to support the setting up of an independent expert group to consider and recommend institutional and regulatory options for issues relating to the provision of competitively tendered Scottish ferry services under EC law.

5 October 2011: The Infrastructure and Capital Investment Committee considered a petition by Neil Kay on governance of essential ferry services and agreed to discuss the issues it raises with the Minister for Housing and Transport in a forthcoming evidence session on the Scottish Government's Ferry Serices Review.
