9 February 2010: The Committee agreed to suspend consideration of the petition until the Scottish Government has announced, in light of the report on the Review of Fatal Accident Inquiry Legislation by Lord Cullen, whether it will amend the Fatal Accidents and Sudden Deaths Inquiry (Scotland) Act 1976 to require the holding of a fatal accident inquiry when a person from Scotland dies abroad.
